Last Tuesday night, the country watched and listened as a respected world leader – President Barack Obama – delivered his report to the country in the annual State of the Union Address (SOTU). As a business owner and a potential business buyer, I am sure you were concerned as to the President’s plans for the economy and the future of businesses in the U.S.
During his address, the President talked about winning the future by “rebuilding America”. “To attract new businesses to the country, we need the fastest, most reliable ways to move people, goods, and information — from high-speed rail to high-speed Internet,” he stated.
To do this, President Obama specifically stated several infrastructure projects which he wishes to enact, such as upgrading highways and bridges, the construction of high-speed railways and building new telecommunication facilities for wider wireless coverage. In his speech, not only will these projects create a more business-friendly environment but most importantly, they will create jobs and help construction businesses prosper once again.
Even before the President’s SOTU, the government had started these construction projects. And now, it is evident that more projects are still to come. What’s good about this is that the benefits of these long-term projects will not only benefit the construction industry but other allied businesses as well. All projects will need manpower. Raw materials for building these roads and communication towers must be manufactured. Transportation and logistics needs have to be covered. The list goes on and on.
These projects are not simple one-time contracts. These are long-term projects with long term impact to the economy in general.
As a company interested in buying a business, you should consider looking at companies involved in construction, manufacturing, staffing and human resource, transportation and logistics, and other related business services as potential acquisition candidates. Similar to how President Obama is dedicated in ‘rebuilding America’; we are dedicated as well in helping find the best business for you to acquire to make your company more prosperous than ever.
